Antwerp, Belgium.

One great thing about living in a country previously unknown and unvisited by me is that I get the chance to explore it every day. One of the destinations on my wish list: Antwerp.

A group of us planned a girls trip to explore the city and let me tell you; it did not disappoint. The streets were bustling with people shopping, exploring the city just like us or walking to the nearest waffle shop. Here are some of my impressions of my time spent there:

One girl in the group came along with exactly one goal: to get some outer-worldly french fries. She succeeded and was very happy for the rest of the day.

This was the first time any of us tried Belgian waffles FROM Belgium. It was a mouth-watering experience.

A couple of us stopped at a little second hand book shop on the way and looked around. It was fairly small, yet had a homey feeling that made me want to curl up there with a book and never leave again.

Apparently the best fries in town in the middle of the so-called ‘Grote Markt’.

I was surprised to see how much street art lined the walls of buildings scattered throughout the city.

One thing I love about larger cities (or cities in general) is that you always hear some type of music around you, it’s never fully quiet.

A wonderful street full of greenery.

A monument in the middle of the centre. Aparently it’s about a legend that involves cutting a giant’s hand off.

A little plant shop that attracted a lot of people because of its cute exterior.

You know me, I simply can’t resist taking photos of random street performers.

  1. Oh my! How beautiful is this city?! The waffles & fries look dang delish– I don’t blame your friend at all for going solely for the fries lol. Your photos are out of this world; I am in love with the window with upside down hanging roses!!

    1. It was definitely one of my favourites to explore so far. So much to do, so much to see! I feel like I’ve been eating fries constantly ever since moving to Belgium but hey, I’m not complaining. And thank you so much, I’m happy you like them!!
