you look at me

with such intensity in your deep green eyes

pupils growing larger by the second

as if to upload and save this moment onto your internal hard-drive

forever

yet what a mental image cannot depict

is the vail of intimacy that covers us both

in which words need not be spoken

we only listen to the trusted rhythm of our hearts beating

in a world where time is always fleeting

a special space in which the laws of nature are bent

for time expands just for the two of us

a beautiful mess of entangled bodies, shared feelings,

hopes and dreams

a place to simply be

the rest of the world be damned
