CHAINS

I just want to escape,

to walk on the back of the world

free from the chains of gravity,

to be liberated from the magnitude of

my wailing worries,

floating beyond their screams

them trying to cling onto me,

gripping the roots that once were my shackles,

grasping for my feet as I get swept far away

soaring to a place where I can live for once

without looking over my shoulder,

waiting

always waiting for my mistakes to

catch up with me.
