STICKY SITUATION embraces the particularly messy situations in life. It is a nod to the painfully awkward silences that tend to happen more often than we would like to admit, those embarrassing past experiences that still make us want to crawl out of our skin and the sensitive, complex feelings we usually keep buried deep down within.

Fiona Jessop was born in a small English Town in May of 1999. She is half Thistle (Scottish), half Edelweiss (Austrian) and has always been a storyteller at heart; Contrary to what family history dictates, she secretly likes to believe that she is the descendant of a long line of Scottish seanchaidhs. If through writing, photography or little scribbles on the back of an old notebook… Fiona believes in the power of our stories, our imagination, our thoughts, feelings and experiences.

She is an introvert – a self-proclaimed poet – a massive Tame Impala fan – an admirer of Bukowski – a secret hopeless romantic (psssst) – an avid reader – a cheese board, wine & board game sort of girl – a creative – a dreamer – a period drama enthusiast – an art gallery addict – a capturer of moments – an admirer of all things blue.

If Fiona could only eat one dessert for the rest of her life it would be Tiramisu. It is her life’s mission to find and/or create the best Tiramisu in the world. Although she loves the city, she sees herself settling down in the country with her own chickens and sheep, making Tiramisu with the fresh eggs from her chickens, making bouquets from the flowers in her garden and spending hours in her hammock reading.

Her favourite authors include Jane Austen, Charles Bukowski, Raymond Carver, Richard Yates, Vladimir Nabokov, Murakami and Allen Ginsberg (fellow book lovers can find Fiona on goodreads). She loves art by Matisse, as his work makes her feel as though she steps out of her life and into his paintings. Her love for street photography grows more and more each year – next to experimenting with crappy disposables on her own, she also enjoys studying the works of famous street photographers such as Daniel Arnold, Andre D. Wagner and Aaron Berger, Helen Levitt, Doug Rickart and Dougie Wallace.
You will probably find Fiona cuddled up at home with a steaming cup of tea, in a cute little café with a good book, in art museums and photography exhibitions, picnicking in parks with her friends, running around Vienna taking pictures of strangers, in her kitchen making yet another quiche or exploring the fiction section of yet another bookshop.

STICKY SITUATION discusses anything and everything. It doesn’t believe in boundaries. It believes in growth, in thinking outside the box, in passions of all shapes and sizes, in openness and honesty, in confronting one’s fears and overcoming them.
