swimming pool

i actually cried

out of happiness today.

today as in roughly half an

hour ago.

I was thinking

back

to a particular moment.

it’s funny how little moments sometimes go

by seemingly unnoticed when they’re

happening

yet in retrospect hold

a greater meaning

or realisation

-a defining moment so to speak.

apparently a feeling so intense

can cause the human brain to feel so overwhelmed

that it finds release and

calm

in tears.

have you ever felt

that way?

I wonder if I’m

the only

one

smilingly swimming in moments

filling up the pool whilst tears

stream down, down,

down.

  1. This is a truly beautiful poem, I love how the words easily flow (kinda like how water would in a swimming pool! 🌊😂 Or maybe as water is held/confined within a pool there is a sense of being trapped which may be a metaphor + cause the emotions written about feeling overwhelmed 😲). This was a very calming read and as you can probably tell, it really made me think! 🤣✨💗

    1. “It really made me think” is probably the best feedback one can get when it comes to writing. Thank you for your incredibly kind comment and for sharing the thoughts this piece provoked with me! It’s always super interesting to see how others interpret things and I really like your take on it 🤗
