IT HIT ME

square in the chest

like a bolt of lightning

my whole body electrified

buzzing

humming

fluttering

yearning to see more

to know more

of him.

reaching out to feel more

to be more

for him.

draining all amounts of restraint

resistance and

common sense

from my identity

 

IT BLINDED ME

who was I

before this

I don’t even remember

all of a sudden it is unimaginable

to exist in a universe

without him

I find myself rendered sightless

in a world full of

beating hearts

 

IT CHANGED ME

no, reinvented me

bettered me

filled me up with the most

excruciatingly painful

degree of attachment
