Get to know me better / The Liebster Award

It seems like autumn/winter is the most dominant award season here on WordPress. Award posts are usually not my cup of tea because they tend to be very repetitive. What I like about the Liebster Award is that it’s somewhat like a Q&A for all of you to get to know me better.

I was nominated by two lovely ladies, Kathryn and Arshia, so I get to answer double the amount of questions! Kathryn runs the blog BloomingwiththeWildflowers alongside two other bloggers. Check them out, they have put some great content out there! Arshia, or rather Words from Adaria, is one of my favourite blogs out there at the moment, so I feel especially honored to be nominated by her. I think it goes without saying that you should definitely pay a visit.

I admit that it’s late and I should be studying for an exam, but hello procrastination! I admire people with laser-focus, I really do. HOW DO YOU DO IT?

The rules:

1. Acknowledge the blog that nominated you

2. Answer the 11 questions that the blogger gives you

3. Give 11 random facts about yourself

4. Nominate 11 blogs

5. Notify those blogs of their nomination

6. Give them 11 questions to answer

Ps. – Thank you for all of these wonderful questions!

Kathryns questions:

What’s your favorite kind of tea?

Hands down English Breakfast Tea with a splash of milk. It’s the fuel to my soul.

What’s your favorite theme song?

Michael Kiwanuka – Cold Little Heart.

It is the theme song of one of my favourite shows, Big Little Lies and I couldn’t stop listening to it when the season was over.

If given a free ticket, which country would you choose to visit and why?

Norway because I fell in love with the country, the people and the language after watching the Norwegian show SKAM. If you haven’t heard of it, watch it!

What is the one thing you wish people knew about you?

That I am not a bitch. (lol) But seriously, that I just need some time to get comfortable in a new environment. I think people perceive me as stand-offish when they first meet me.

What is your greatest achievement?

From my perspective it’s probably The Person Behind interview series I started because so much of my time and energy went into it and it’s something I feel extremely proud of. I also graduated high school with honors which was a big deal for me because I worked really hard. It’s nice when hard work pays off.

What is your most prized possession?

My cat Nala, who is more like a friend than anything else.

What are three of your main goals?

  1. Get through uni in one piece and get my Bachelor’s degree
  2. Keep creating
  3. Get something of mine published one day.

How did you pick your blog’s name?

Easy – I was a sixteen year old who had a lot of doubts and questions about the world. And so Questions From A Teenager was born.

What’s your favorite post that you’ve written?

This is so.hard. so I decided to put down my top 5:

✏︎ Putting your faith in people – that was the first post in which I really opened up on this blog which was quite a big step for me.

✏︎ Illusion – one of the first poems I wrote and I am actually proud of.

✏︎ Winter – my most recent poem I am proud of.

✏︎ I can’t help what I feel – the story of a valuable life lesson I learnt.

✏︎ On writing – about the very core of my soul.

If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you’d buy?

Depends on how much money I would win. I would say probably a new camera and some equipment for it.

Who is your role model?

All of my wonderful friends. They are my source for motivation and inspiration.

Adaria’s questions:

What is your favourite time of the year, and why?

Probably spring because winter can be so dark and gloomy, but spring brings things (myself included) back to life.

❥If you could be any animal, which would you be, and what’s the reason?

My cat, Nala. Because who wouldn’t like to live a life of food, sleep, cuddles and the outdoors?

❥What is your favourite quote?

“Inspiration is highly overrated. If you sit around and wait for the clouds to part, it’s not liable to ever happen. More often than not, work is salvation.”

-Chuck Close

❥Are you an introvert, ambivert, or extrovert?

To 100% an introvert. I actually did an amazing online test on this a while back and wrote a detailed post about it, click here for more.

❥If you had all the money in the world, what would you do?

ALL of the money? As in nobody else has any? Because then I would get rid of money all together to be honest.

❥What’s one place you really want to visit, and why?

Kathryn asked the same question, so I’m going to give a different answer on both. That’s why for this question I am going to go with Japan. The culture there is drastically different from mine and it fascinates me immensely.

❥If you could live in a book, which one would it be?

This is such a good question! Probably Outlander my Diana Gabaldon just because it has time travel in it, Scotland… I am a huge history buff so this would definitely be the world for me.

❥What does your name mean, and what is its origin?

I know that my name is Scottish and means “the fair one” (fair as in of complexion). Let’s see what Wikipedia has to say:

“It was invented and first used by the Scottish poet James Macpherson (1736–96), author of the Ossian poems which he claimed were translations from ancient Gaelic sources (sources which, when challenged, he never produced). The name is considered to be a Latinised form of the Gaelic word fionn, meaning ‘white’, ‘fair’.”

❥What type of music are you most attracted to?

I would say classic/indie rock, RnB, indie/dream pop and a little bit of hip hop sometimes.

❥What’s the one thing you really, really love about yourself?

My constant need to create.

❥What are your favourite words (like ones you love hearing, or using)?

Now this question is so hard for me to answer because I honestly have no idea. I like it when people say “hence” or “thus”, I don’t know why though. I also used to love the word “coconut” as a child and even named one of my cats “Coco” because of it. Sadly she passed away a few years ago but will always be in my heart.

I hope that this post helped you get to know me better. One of my biggest aims of this year is to try to bring across my personality as well as possible on this blog. I love it when bloggers are authentic, so taking that as an example I will try and open up more. Also, some of my blogging friends have shared so much about their lives, countless ways for me to get to know them, that I feel it’s only appropriate to reciprocate.

I hope you enjoyed this Q&A-like post, please let me know if I should make Q&A’s part of my blogging routine in the future! I always enjoy receiving and answering questions, so I would definitely be on board ☺︎ If this is something you would like to read, then please leave some questions down below for me to answer in a separate Q&A!

Lots of love,

  1. Congratulations on your nomination! This is such a wonderful post and I loved getting to know you better – you’re such an interesting person 🙂 and I can definitely relate to that my cat is my most prized possession, don’t know what I would do without her! You should definitely do Q&As in the future because it’s always great to learn more about fellow bloggers xox

  2. Thanks for nominating me!! Unfortunately I don’t do tags simply because they tend to get in the way of the things I want to post, and I end up post poning everything I write. I really loved your answers though, and I appreciate the nomination!!

    1. I totally get that. Award posts are usually not really my cup of tea either, I just find that most of them are basically the same and oh god yes, planning when to publish them is a nightmare. Glad you still enjoyed reading, this nomination was merely a way to show my appreciation for your great content! x

  3. Wooo I loved this, & thank you so much for nominating me!! I’m also an INFJ personality type which is so weird (it was going to be one of my 7 facts about myself when posting my Liebster award nominations) and I also love washi-tape – I actually need to buy more of it! Our music taste sounds pretty similar too! xx

  5. Please let me know if you’re looking for a article writer for your weblog. You have some really great posts and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please shoot me an email if interested. Kudos!
