We made it.

All of us out of breath,

giggling out of exhaustion and joy at the same time

eye contact between us a shared understanding

of an immense sense of pride

and that exhilarating feeling of being alive,

young and well.

The wind stroking our features,

tracing the lines of our smiles

as we stand at the top, staring out into the vast world

our worries swept away with the golden leaves

leaving behind a scene so serene

that life comes to a halt for a long moment

before starting to spin once more,

commencing our descent into reality.
